John Veitch
HEAD OF SCHOOL & HEAD OF MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL
NATIONALITY: NEW ZEALAND
John Veitch joined EIS in August 2020 following a long career in education, having held several administrative positions across Early Years, Primary, Middle, and High Schools.
Most recently, John was appointed Deputy Head of School at a New Zealand Middle and High school. Before this post, he was the IB Diploma Coordinator at Shanghai American School, one of many international teaching positions in the Philippines and Thailand.
John is passionate about improving school systems and is an advocate for initiatives that directly benefit students. He is committed to providing a learning environment where all students can reach their potential.
John holds a MA in Educational Administration. He enjoys sports and has coached several sportspeople at an elite level, including Volleyball, Track and Field, and Rugby teams.
Jo Roberts
DEPUTY HEAD OF SCHOOL AND HEAD OF EARLY YEARS & PRIMARY
Jo Roberts has been with EIS since 2011. She has been a homeroom teacher in Toddler Class, Kindergarten 2, and Preschool. She was also appointed English Coordinator and Deputy Head of Early Years before becoming Head of Early Years in 2013, Head of Primary in 2017, and Deputy Head of School in 2020.
Jo is passionate about childhood development in the Early and Primary Years and is committed to providing young learners with the highest quality of education. She believes in a holistic approach to teaching and learning that equips children with an excellent foundation to become lifelong learners.
Prior to joining EIS, Jo worked for many years at the British Council in Ho Chi Minh City. She has taught internationally for almost 16 years, having taught in Taiwan, China, and New Zealand before settling in Vietnam in 2003.
Jo enjoys spending most of her free time with her daughter and has recently completed an MA in International Education.
