The reaction from students, teachers and visiting artists has been one of great positivity.

The experiential musical workshops, for students of all ages and abilities, have been challenging the traditional approach to music by allowing students to explore the art of groove, experimenting with music technology and production, and how to write and perform a song from conception to completion.

Culminating in performances at the end of the artist’s visits, students' bands and soloists around the world have been performing classics such as Rolling in the Deep by Adele and Killer Joe by Benny Golson (Reddam House, Berkshire). Year 7 students in Fulham, London composed an electronic demo using Ableton technology, whilst experiencing the extraordinary sounds of an electric harp. Three newly formed bands at Reddam House, Sydney worked on classic Motown songs such as "Rock with You" by Michael Jackson, "I Can't Get Next to You" by The Temptations, and "Mr. Big Stuff" by Jean Knight.

It is great to see the Inspired by Berklee partnership triggering the “musician” in all students, regardless of ability, shining a light on music and the arts in a way that is unexpected, and refreshing. Our talented young musicians have been inspired as they experience first-hand how world class artists perform.

The Inspired by Berklee partnership continues to provide students with exciting opportunities to develop their musical talents. More information about the future plans will be shared soon.
