Weekly Newsletter - 10th January 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL
It has been an exciting time this week with students returning and settling back into regular routines of school.
The new colourful, rubberized surface in the early years playground was a particular hit!

SCHOOL GATE SECURITY
The new access/exit gates in the Early Years / Primary Entrance (Ngo Quang Huy Street) are now in operation.
Thank you to parents entering the school for wearing their school-issued ID card. Parents who do not present their ID card will be requested to sign-in and wear a visitor’s ID card.

ACCREDITATION: COUNCIL OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS (CIS)
As I mentioned last week The Self-Study Report for the accreditation process has been completed and will be sent to CIS.
An important element of the process has also been drafting and finalizing policies to meet the standards of accreditation. These policies will guide, over time, continued improvement of processes and procedures in all aspects of school operations. It will also align the school with “best practice’’ in international schools generally.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING
Arising from the accreditation process the school continues to focus on aspects of safeguarding and child protection and to upskill staff. Training workshops were held last week for support staff in Admissions, Human Resources, Finance and Facilities departments.

MEET THE SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Thank you to parents who attended last Monday or who stayed to have coffee in the Early Years area. It was a pleasure to meet new parents who have joined the school this term.

MOVIE NIGHT
We will hold a Movie Night on this Saturday, 12th, January. Gates open at 5 pm and the movie (Wall-E) will start at 6 pm. Food will be available for purchase. Thank you to the Classroom Parent Representatives for organizing this event.
