What a wonderful afternoon! Thank you for coming - there were over 1500 attendee this year. ACCREDITATION, SAFEGUARDING AND OTHER SCHOOL MATTERS
Thank you to parents who attended the meeting on this topic for Korean parents (in Korean) on last Wednesday, December 5th.
The school has recently revised the Safeguarding Policy in the context of CIS accreditation and once approved by A-Star Education, this will be sent to parents in January.
The working committees preparing the Self Study Reports for CIS Accreditation and IB Authorisation successfully met the deadlines this week in finalizing their draft reports. These reports will be sent shortly to CIS and IB respectively in anticipation of the onsite School Visit phase of the process.
As parents who have visited the school recently may have noticed the new building is nearing the completion stage and glazing of the upper floor classrooms commenced this week. Members of the Senior Leadership Team toured the building recently to inform their planning for fit-out and use of the facilities, that will include classrooms for Grades 5 and 6, swimming pool and multi-purpose room. We anticipate phased use of the facilities commencing after February 2019. You can view some photos of the building here.
FIRST AID TRAINING
Teachers are currently engaged in a program of training to upskill First Aid Training across the school. Teacher who are leading fieldtrips for Week Without Walls participated recently in an advanced course for “wilderness first aid training” and a program in general training commenced this week.
NEW TRAFFIC SIGNS AND CONVEX MIRRORS
4 traffic signs on Le Van Mien Street and Ngo Quang Huy Street and 2 convex mirrors at the T-junction of Ngo Quang Huy and Lane no. 89 Xuan Thuy have been completed. The signs are 30 meters from the right and the left of the entrances (Gate 3 and Early Years entrance). They help remind people to slow down when passing the school and have a better view of traffic when getting in or out Lane No. 89. Photos can be viewed here.
YEARBOOK PHOTO ORDER
Hard copies of order form have been sent home today, except for students from Grade 6 – 10 as they are on WWW. Emails include sitting ID haven been sent to all parents. Please follow the guideline there to order photo for your child / children.
