European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 3rd September 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We were pleased to recognise National Day on last Tuesday and it was satisfying to see so many students celebrate, both in classrooms and in activities. As usual students from different sections of the school prepared dance performances and shared these with other students during homeroom time. Please click here to view the photo album on Parent Portal.

We were also pleased to relaunch the After-School Activities and Extra-Curricular Programmes this week. If you have any questions regarding the programme please contact Ms. Dieu Vo, Coordinator of Additional Activities and Events,

Thank you again to those parents who engaged during the past few weeks to meet with homeroom teachers or to attend our online curriculum information sessions for IBPYP, IBMYP and IBDP. We hope that you found these opportunities helpful in supporting your child in school.

If you have any questions regarding school curriculum please contact:

• Ms. Cristy Neves (IBPYP - Early Years),
• Mr. Michael Perry (IBPYP Coordinator - Primary),
• Mr. Martin Grist (IBMYP Coordinator),
• Ms. Erin Tacey (IBDP Coordinator),

In the Middle/High School, Ms. Aubrey Fowler, Pastoral and Wellbeing Coordinator, is available if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child settling into a new school year or any aspects of emotional or social wellbeing.

Homeroom teachers are now finalising the list of Class Parent Representatives (CPR).  If you are interested in volunteering for this role, please contact your homeroom teacher.  A special section of the Parent Portal has been developed for CPR communications and this will be activated next week.

We tested the School’s Emergency communication system via Email last Friday, August 28th and SMS on Monday, August 31st with a “Test” message to all parents. It is important that the school has current contact information for each student. If you did not receive this message please inform

School Day and Supervision

Parents should please be aware that students not being collected at the appropriate time at the end of the school day is a wellbeing concern. The experience, particularly if it occurs regularly, can be a negative emotional experience for a child.

Meet the Senior Leadership Team

We will hold a ‘’Coffee Morning’’ event on next Monday, September 7th at 8.00am – 9.00am. This will be an occasion to meet informally with the SLT, Sean O’Maonaigh, Jo Roberts, John Veitch and Tony Shadwell. The numbers of attendees will be limited so please register on SchoolsBuddy.

Yours sincerely,

Sean O'MaoNaigh
