Dear Parents and Guardians,
EIS IS AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL!
The AMAZING NEWS that EIS is now an internationally accredited school continues to filter through the school this week. The Visitors Report has been circulated to the original self-study Steering Committee and will shortly be more widely reviewed. The report provides commendations and recommendations for improvement of standards. The following comments are of particular note:
“There is a strong commitment to nurturing students and ensuring that student well-being and respectful interactions with others is paramount”
“Individuals are valued for their uniqueness and respect is afforded in an environment where personal goal setting and extension is based on a strong foundation of prior learning”
“In granting the award of accreditation, CIS felt that the commendations, or strengths of the school, far outweighed any areas in which the school was deficient and EIS is now certainly well positioned to follow through and use the CIS accreditation process as a continuing catalyst for school development”
We look forward to Presentation Day tomorrow at 9.30am. at the Opera House when we celebrate the many achievements of our students during the school year.
Graduation is a milestone we also look forward to celebrating tomorrow in the Opera House, commencing at 11.30am. It is an important event for the school, but a significant event in the lives of our students. We wish our graduates well as they leave the school and move on to new opportunities of learning and personal growth.
There was much excitement around the pool on Wednesday when we held the first, onsite, secondary school Swim Gala in the new pool. A great event! Photos are available HERE.
CREATIVE ARTS WEEK
The student are currently preparing for Creative Arts Week – a celebration of their work in Visual Arts, Design, Music, Dance and Drama. The event will open in the MPR on Monday afternoon at 3.00pm and the Art Exhibition and events for students will run throughout the week.
Everest Education (E2) has been invited to become part of the EIS School Community for this upcoming summer vacation for students from all schools from Grades 1 - 8. Founded by Harvard and Stanford graduates with a mission of preparing K-12 students academically and emotionally for an international education, E2 has been the trusted summer camp provider for many other international school partner schools in HCMC.
The theme for Summer Camp 2019 is Wonder World. This is a five-week interactive camp that allows students to explore a multi-disciplinary journey through major regions of the world. Each week students will examine a specific area and discover the natural wonders found on land and under the sea, learn more about the cultures - including food, traditions, and arts. Students will also dig deeper into understanding major issues faced in each area and on a global scale.
Wonder World allows students to participate in a variety of both academic and fun activities and enjoy their summer to the fullest. The unique environment builds up students with a passion for lifelong learning and a can-do attitude that carries forward into their future.
