European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 29th August 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you to all those who attended the Back to School Reception on Wednesday evening. It was wonderful to see many parents and staff in attendance, contributing to the sense of community of our school.
The National Day Assembly will take place tomorrow, Friday at 8.15. Students have been preparing and rehearsing and we look forward to an exciting celebration assembly. Please note that there may be very limited parking available and parents should consider this in making travel arrangements.
Benchmark Assessments
We are currently implementing “GL Assessments” in a phased manner across the school. These are benchmarked formative assessments in literacy, numeracy, reading and learning styles: Students in Primary School will take the assessments next week. There is no preparation or pre-test study required and teachers are implementing the tests with a low stress approach. The information for students will be used to inform teaching and learning for each individual student. A workshop on these assessments and progress on the implementation will be provided by a visiting consultant for parents later in the term.
End-of the-Day procedure
Now that the After-School and Extra-Curricular Activities Programs have commenced parents are reminded that students may not remain on campus, unsupervised. Parents are asked that arrangements be made for students to be collected promptly at the end of the school day or after activities. If a student is ‘’picked up’’ by a parent, guardian, nanny or driver the student should be kept in sight and actively supervised.
Parent/Student Contact Information
Please notify Admissions if there have been changes to your contact information. Please respond to an individual request that was mailed out to parents.
Parent Education Programme
A programme of workshops for parents will be published shortly. The workshops will cover a range of topics regarding teaching and learning, and related matters.
Meet the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
“Meet the SLT” will recommence on Monday, September 9th at 8.00am. This is an opportunity for parents to engage informally with the senior leadership of the school. The topic for this first meeting will be ‘’The Accreditation Status of the Council of International Schools (CIS)”.
I look forward to seeing you then,

All the very best,
Sean O'MaoNaigh
Head of School
