Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 28th November 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

East Asia Regional Council of School
We are pleased to announce that EIS has been accepted for membership of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) that comprises 179 accredited international schools in the region
The mission of EARCOS is to inspire adult and student learning through its leadership and service and fosters intercultural understanding, global citizenship and exceptional educational practices within this community of schools. Membership of the organisation will provide access for our teachers and staff to a greater range of professional development and training opportunities and give opportunities for students to engage in wider events such as Global Initiatives Networks and be eligible for a Global Citizenships Award.

Student Child Protection and Safeguarding
A representative group of administrators, teachers and staff attended a recent workshop organised by the American Chamber of Commerce on the topic of Child Protection and Safeguarding. This conference, addressed by international and local experts, was held to inform and provide the best global techniques and practices for preventing institutional child abuse, particularly in schools. Included was information on human resource recruiting, hiring practices and signs and impact of abuse on children that the group will report back to colleagues to enhance further training at EIS.
