European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 23rd May 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The AMAZING NEWS this week is that EIS is now an internationally accredited school.
Please see the attached letter from Stuart McLay, Director of International Accreditation Services, Council of International Schools.
This is a great achievement for everyone in the school involved in the accreditation process over the past years and I think it is important to highlight the acclamation
“In granting the award of accreditation, CIS felt that the commendations – or strengths of the school – far outweighed any areas in which the school was deficient”
Change for improvement is not an event, but a process and EIS is now certainly well positioned to follow through and use the CIS accreditation process as a continuing catalyst for school development.
Presentation Day will be held on Friday, 31st May in the Opera House, commencing at 9.30am. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of our students. All parents are invited to attend, but please sign up your attendance HERE as seating may be limited.

Students in Grade 12, who are currently completing their IB examinations, will graduate from the school at a ceremony in the Opera House on Friday, May 31st, commencing at 11.30am. We look forward to celebrating this important milestone in their lives with the students.

The Swim Gala for Secondary School students will take place on Wednesday, 29th. The students are excited as this year they do not have to travel to an outside pool!

Everest Education (E2) has been invited to become part of the EIS School Community for this upcoming summer vacation for students from all schools from Grades 1 - 8. Founded by Harvard and Stanford graduates with a mission of preparing K-12 students academically and emotionally for an international education, E2 has been the trusted summer camp provider for many other international school partner schools in HCMC.
The theme for Summer Camp 2019 is Wonder World. This is a five-week interactive camp that allows students to explore a multi-disciplinary journey through major regions of the world. Each week students will examine a specific area and discover the natural wonders found on land and under the sea, learn more about the cultures - including food, traditions, and arts. Students will also dig deeper into understanding major issues faced in each area and on a global scale.
Wonder World allows students to participate in a variety of both academic and fun activities and enjoy their summer to the fullest. The unique environment builds up students with a passion for lifelong learning and a can-do attitude that carries forward into their future.

Please register HERE as seating may be limited. “The German Academic Exchange Service DAAD offers an extensive range of information and advising services to prospective and current students. The DAAD was established in 1925 as a joint association of German universities and their student bodies. Today, it is the largest funding organisation of its kind in the world. With headquarters in Bonn, an office in Berlin, 15 regional offices and 56 information centres worldwide, the DAAD is supported by more than 450 lektorships (lektors are young German academics working at universities abroad in many academic areas) in over 110 countries. Every year, thousands of students and scholars discover the opportunities of higher education which Germany has to offer. A 2016 study by the British Council confirmed that Germany’s internationalisation measures have been extremely successful: Out of the top 25 countries worldwide, Germany took fourth place.”
