Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to all the parents who attended the PYP, MYP and DP curriculum meetings this week. We hope that you found the presentations beneficial and the opportunities to meet with teachers worthwhile. We look forward to meeting parents again next week when the school will host a Back to School Reception on Wednesday, 28th at 6.30pm in the MPR. An invitation to attend has been sent to parent, so please sign up for the event so that we have an indication of numbers who will attend. Please note that the Reception is for Parents and Staff only and is not “a family” event. Sign up here.
National day Assembly
The morning of August 30th sees our National Day Assembly. Dress code for the day will be an Ao Dai or wearing red & yellow clothing. Students are still expected to abide by the school’s dress code.
We are currently implementing “GL Assessments” in a phased manner across the school. These are benchmarked formative assessments in literacy, numeracy, reading and learning styles: https://www.gl-assessment.co.uk/about-us/. Students in Middle and High School took assessments this week and Primary will commence next week. The information for students will be used to inform teaching and learning for each individual student. A workshop on these assessments and progress on the implementation will be provided by a visiting consultant for parents later in the term.
School ID cards
Please remember to wear your School ID Card. The security guards will only give access to those wearing the School ID Card. Parents not wearing a card will be asked to sign-in as a visitor. If you do not have an ID Card please contact email@example.com.
End-of the-Day procedure
We will commence the After-School and Extra-Curricular Activities Programs next week on Monday, 26th, August. Therefore school buses will leave the campus at 16:00 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Parents are reminded that students may not remain
on campus, unsupervised, after school. Students must be collected promptly at the end of the school day or after activities.
After - School Programmes
The After-School Activities and Extra-Curricular Programs will commence during next week on Monday 26th August 2019. Information regarding the activities and sign-up has been provided to parents – if you did not receive a notification please contact the Homeroom teacher.

Parent Education Programme
A programme of workshops for parents will be published shortly. The workshops will cover a range of topics regarding teaching and learning, and related matters.
Meet the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
“Meet the SLT” will recommence on Monday, September 9th at 8.00am. This is an opportunity for parents to engage informally with the senior leadership of the school. The topic for this first meeting will be ‘’The Accreditation Status of the Council of International Schools (CIS)”.
Class Parent Representative
The role of Class Parent Representative is a great way to:
- Be Involved in the school community and get to know other parents from across the school.
- Support the home room teacher by encouraging parent involvement which enriches our children's classroom experience.
- Have parent representation as an essential tool for open communication between the school and the parents.
The time commitment is one meeting every 4 - 6 weeks during the school year for about one hour and some follow up afterwards. Don't worry if your English is not perfect - CPRs are supported with all written communications. We currently have vacancies in the following grades; TA, TB, K2B, PSB, G2B, G4A, G4B, G6A, G7B, G8A, G9, G10, G11. Please contact the Homeroom Teacher or Ms. Tam in Reception to sign up.
