European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 19th September 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Moon Festival
Thank you to everyone who attended the Moon Festival Assembly last Friday, September 13th. The students did amazingly well in decorating and parading their lanterns and the performers provided a wonderful sense of excitement in the dance and drumming performances. Well done. Please see the video here.
“Learning to Lead” Conference
EIS hosted a very successful leadership development conference for students on last Saturday, September 14th. This was a new initiative and over 100 students from international schools (including AIS, ABCIS, AmIS, SSIS, ISHCMC, BIS and TAS) were in attendance.
Class Parent Representatives (CPRs)
Parents should now have received an email from their Class Parent explaining their role in supporting the teacher, parents and students. Parents should also have received an envelope mailing asking for permission to circulate contact information and for a contribution to the ‘’class fund’’. Please contact the homeroom teacher if you did not receive an envelope and please return the envelope to your homeroom teacher.
Safety and Security
A practice ‘’lockdown drill’’ took place on Thursday, September 19th and students were briefed on what to do in an emergency when it may be necessary to remain in a safe place on campus.

Access to Campus during the school day
After morning drop-off the entrance at Ngo Quang Huy is closed at 8.00am and the access to the school campus is only through the main gate at Le Van Mien Street. Arising from recent practice drills it is essential, especially in the case of an emergency, that there is a record of those who are on campus. Therefore all persons entering and leaving the campus during the school day are asked to sign the in/out register.

Launch of Parent Portal
The school is currently implementing a new school management system – iSAMS. One component of the system is a Parent Portal. A test of the portal will be sent to CPRs shortly to provide feedback, prior to an open launch to all parents.

Survey for New Parents
Thank you to those parents who have responded to provide feedback on the admissions process, transition and settling into the school. The survey will remain open until Wednesday 25th to allow any further responses to Admissions.

All the very best,

Sean O'MaoNaigh
Head of School
