Weekly Email from EIS to Parents - 17th December 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to celebrate the end of the first semester. It is worthwhile to glance back over the past five months and realize how much has been achieved in the school, both in classrooms and in events and activities. A purposeful learning environment has been maintained and the educational assessments indicate that our students are making excellent progress. School events and assemblies, such as National Day, United Nations Day maintained the student life of the school and opportunities in performance (e.g., “A Lion’s Tale”), physical education (friendly interschools’ games), swimming (competitive galas) provided occasions for growth and personal development. Generally, in line with our EIS learning principles, students have enjoyed a teaching and learning environment where they feel safe and secure and an educational environment that is nurturing and respectful.

We will hold special assemblies tomorrow to recognize the commitment and efforts of our students. The students are very excited to perform and display their learning with fun and excitement. Thank you to those parents who have signed up to attend via SchoolsBuddy. Confirmation of seat booking was sent, and registration is now closed. Parents are reminded that access to and exit from the school will be through the designated gate on Le Van Mien Street.

The semester reports were posted yesterday, Wednesday, December 16th. When you receive the report please do read the report card with your son/daughter. Please note the attainment grades and give praise for effort and progress. Please contact the homeroom or subject teacher if you do not understand the evaluation criteria on the report or if have any questions or need to discuss any matter.

A major student initiative during the semester has been fund raising for the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation to support their efforts to assist the flood victims in Central Vietnam. In total, students, teachers, and parents have raised 95,418,000 VND to Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation.

The general school calendar (term dates) for school year 2020/21 is currently being developed. The calendar will be published on the Parent Portal in January 2021.

We have already started enrolments for next school year and there are waiting lists in several grade levels, commencing January 2021.
