Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 16th May 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

IBPYP EXHIBITION
It was a great pleasure to welcome parents, teachers, guests and students to the opening of the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition on Wednesday evening. This was the first such event to be held in the new MPR. It was an exciting evening for students as they displayed presentations of the research projects in which they have been engaged over the past few weeks. It was also an opportunity for them to explain their work and to answer the many questions asked of them by those present. The exhibition will be visited by students from other classes and indeed, from other schools. An amazing experience for our students. Photos are available here.

PARENT - SCHOOL AGREEMENT
As you may be aware the School has been working on drafting new Terms and Conditions of Enrolment (the Parent-School Agreement). This was necessitated by the requirements of the Council of International School to ensure transparency of contractual arrangements between parents and the School. The process has been collaborative, involving A-Star Education, School Management and the Parent Council.
A softcopy of the Agreement has been sent to parents for review. If you have not received a copy, please contact Admission. A hardcopy will be sent home to parents for signature in late May.

PRESENTATION DAY
Presentation Day will be held on Friday, 31st May in the Opera House, commencing at 9.30am. This will be an opportunity to celebration the many achievement of our students. If you haven’t registered to join, please kindly do so via THIS LINK.

GRADUATION DAY
Students in Grade 12, who are currently completing their IB examinations, will graduate from the school at a ceremony in the Opera House on Friday, May 31st, commencing at 11.30am. Hard copy of invitation will be sent home soon. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the students.

SUMMER SCHOOL
Everest Education (E2) has been invited to become part of the EIS School Community for this upcoming summer vacation for students from all schools from Grades 1 - 8. Founded by Harvard and Stanford graduates with a mission of preparing K-12 students academically and emotionally for an international education, E2 has been the trusted summer camp provider for many other international school partner schools in HCMC.
The theme for Summer Camp 2019 is Wonder World. This is a five-week interactive camp that allows students to explore a multi-disciplinary journey through major regions of the world. Each week students will examine a specific area and discover the natural wonders found on land and under the sea, learn more about the cultures - including food, traditions, and arts. Students will also dig deeper into understanding major issues faced in each area and on a global scale.
Wonder World allows students to participate in a variety of both academic and fun activities and enjoy their summer to the fullest. The unique environment builds up students with a passion for lifelong learning and a can-do attitude that carries forward into their future.
