European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly Email from EIS to Parents - 07th January 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy New Year and welcome to semester 2. It was wonderful to see students arrive yesterday and settle back enthusiastically to classes. We are particularly pleased to see the return of students from overseas and to welcome new students to our school.

The exciting news for students in Middle and High is the opening of our new Building B. Photos are available on Parent Portal here. The facilities include classrooms, science laboratories, design think innovation centre and a mezzanine floor for students studying in the IB Diploma programme.

Professional Development Day

On Tuesday teachers were engaged in a professional development day, attending workshops in areas of ongoing curriculum improvement. On topic was on developing assessment for learning and the use of student attainment data to inform teaching and learning. A cohort of teachers have attended an intensive training course with Mr. Matthew Savage and were able to share their expertise with other colleagues.  During the second semester we will continue to use GL Assessments in numeracy, literacy, and approaches to learning to better understand the capacity of our students and personalize their learning.

Vision Narrative

Another focus for our teachers was a review of the Vision Narrative of EIS on Parent Portal, link here. This was written initially in 2017 and requires updating to address the next five years of school improvement. This ‘’vision’’ document will be the foundation of the new accreditation cycle for the Council of International Schools that will commence in school year 2021/22. Input for the revision process is also being sought from students, through the Student Representative Councils and parents, through the Parent Council.

We have already started enrolments for next school year and there are waiting lists in several grade levels, commencing January 2021.

If you are interested or know any families who may be interested in joining EIS, please kindly contact Admissions Office via (+84) 28 7300 7275 or

Warm regards,

Sean O'Maonaigh
