European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly Email from EIS to Parents - 04th February 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We had a smooth transition to home learning on Tuesday. This was obviously at very short notice however, given the new technology platforms that have been introduced and the preparations by teachers and students, the switch to online has been generally effective.

Please consider the following:

  • Learning is continuing: The relationship between the teacher and student, focused on learning, is being maintained. It is important for parents to be supportive of this and establish routines at home that serve the learning timetable of students.
  • Asynchronous approach: EIS has adopted an asynchronous format which is a key feature of successful online learning. This allows flexibility for students, limits screen time and easily accommodates different learning styles.
  • Engage: The Home Learning Portal and Parent Portal provides much information about what is happening.  Students should be encouraged to be engaged fully. If you as a parent want to see what students are working on, please ask your child to show you, and to explain what they are doing – this helps their learning.
  • Stay connected: School is not closed! All teachers and staff are working in school. Teachers will continue to liaise with parents as necessary this week and are the main point of contact for any questions. The Learning Resource Centre is open and it is possible to borrow books for reading next week or check out the new digital collection at

Thank you to parents who attended our workshops last week. All the workshop presentations and further information is posted on the Parent Portal. We hope to resume the schedule of presentations after the TET holiday. Please note that the next ‘’Technology Support Workshop” is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17th at 7.45 am in the MPR.

The opening ceremony has been postponed until a later date. Thank you to the students who provided the works of art that now hang in the building. Their creativity is self-evident and add great vibrancy to the building.

The overview school calendar for next school year, indicating national and school holidays, is now posted on the Parent Portal. A more detailed calendar including school events will be published at a later date.

The school will close on Friday, February 5th at 14:55 and is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, February 16th. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a restful, celebration holiday. ‘Chuc Mung Nam Moi’.

The Saturday morning tour programme has started for families interested in enrolling in EIS in Term 4 and/or next academic year, commencing August 2021. Admissions is now establishing waitlists for some classes so if you or friends are interested in enrolment please contact Admissions Office via (+84) 28 7300 7275 or
