European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Weekly Email from EIS to Parents - 03rd December 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Regrettably, given the new circumstances and potential health risk, of the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in HCMC we must postpone the Ho Ho Holiday Fun Games and Movie Night on Saturday, December 12th. We were looking forward to an exciting community event when we could all come together again. We appreciate that this news will be disappointing. Unfortunately, we have not received official permission to hold the event and the advice from the local authorities is not to hold such a large gathering at this time. We will reconsider the situation in coming weeks and hopefully will be able to hold a similar event in January or February. Special thanks to the CPRs and the organizing Events Committee.

A Learning Principle of EIS is that students are encouraged to engage in meaningful and intentional practice and given time, space, and constructive opportunities to practice what they learn. It is also important that students be reflective and engage in self-assessment. This is a busy time to engage in semester assessments and for teachers to review student progress and to prepare written reports which will be made available to parents in December.

Over the past few weeks on Saturdays teachers have been engaged in a program of training to upskill First Aid Training across the school. All our teachers are now trained in First Aid and most are certified by the American Safety & Health Institute in Basic First Aid/CPR and AED for Adults, Children, and Infants.

The next informal meeting with the SLT will take place on Monday, December 7th. Please note the date and come along from 8.00am to 9.00am in the MPR to meet with Sean O’Maonaigh, Head of School, Jo Robert, Head of Early Years and Primary and John Veitch, Head of Middle and High School.

In recent weeks, our Security Team have been supported by local police in easing traffic congestion and maintain safety for students and parents on Ngo Quang Huy and Le Van Mien Streets. Thank you to parents who have been responsive and supportive of these efforts.

Reminder please:

  • If you are parking a bike please ensure it is locked, keys are not left in the ignition and no valuables are visible.
  • Please ensure that you always wear the parent/student ID card when you are collecting your child/ren.

The general school calendar (term dates) for school year 2020/21 is currently being developed. The calendar will be published on the Parent Portal in January.

Thank you to parents who have referred new students to our school.

We have already started waiting lists in several grade levels, commencing January 2019. Furthermore, some parents have already paid the deposit for next school year.

If you are interested or know any families who may be interested in joining EIS, please kindly contact Admissions Office via (+84) 28 7300 7275 or
