Weekly email from EIS to Parents - 02nd May 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

ENROLMENT FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2019/20
Thank you to those parents who have already responded to the School, to indicate intention to re-enroll for next academic year. These parents should have already received an invoice and a soft copy of the new School Agreement.
Urgent feedback from those parents who have yet to confirm their enrolment intentions for next year is now essential. There are waiting lists in several grades and if positive confirmation of re-enrollment from existing families is not received, places will be allocated to new incoming families. The deadline for final notification is May 15th.

NEW SCHOOL BUILDING
The Swim Team will commence using the Swimming Pool tomorrow, Friday. This is exciting news for them!

ASSESSMENTS AND EXAMINATIONS
Students in Grades 10 and 12 are currently preparing for assessments and examinations in IBMYP and IBDP respectively.

HITMAKER
Last weekend the school hosted the “Hitmaker” competition, a business ideas competition for students in schools in HCMC. The final round of the competition featured judges from two external organisations (Amazing Group Vietnam and the CEO of Vulcan Augmentics) and Mr. Tony Shadwell.
EIS won the competition again this year! The winning team was comprised of G11 students, Dung (Danielle), Minh, Weyment and Si Hyung. Their business idea (SOJ.com) was to create a LinkedIn in style website for students looking for part time jobs and internships. They had a detailed plan and made a very strong impact on the judges. Congratulations. Photos are available here.

MEET THE SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM
The next informal meeting will take place on Monday, May 6th at 8.00 in the LRC. This will be an opportunity for parents to meet with the SLT and discuss and/or clarify any matters of concern.

SUMMER CAMP 2019
Everest Education (E2) has been invited to become part of the EIS School Community for this upcoming summer vacation. Founded by Harvard and Stanford graduates with a mission of preparing K-12 students academically and emotionally for an international education, E2 has been the trusted summer camp provider for many other international school partner schools in HCMC.
The theme for Summer Camp 2019 is Wonder World. This is a five-week interactive camp that allows students to explore a multi-disciplinary journey through major regions of the world. Each week students will examine a specific area and discover the natural wonders found on land and under the sea, learn more about the cultures - including food, traditions, and arts. Students will also dig deeper into understanding major issues faced in each area and on a global scale.
Wonder World allows students to participate in a variety of both academic and fun activities and enjoy their summer to the fullest. The unique environment builds up students with a passion for lifelong learning and a can-do attitude that carries forward into their future.
