European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) offers a rich and diverse programme of After School Activities (ASAs) for all students from Early Years to Grade 12, most of which are included within the tuition fee. Students are given space and time to develop their artistic talents, social competencies, physical endurance and skills, as well as having fun in a supervised and supportive environment.

Elijah attended a preschool in our previous country of posting and a kindergarten in HCMC. Although he was extremely well looked after by his 2 previous schools, trouble was he still could not read. We enrolled him into EIS and within a few months he came home, looked at the TV and said ‘Sony’. There has been no stopping him since. In my past experience in my interaction with EIS’s current leadership and team, it could be hard not to see that a fertile and international environment has been created for which children are nurtured to grow. The built environment of the campus plays a significant and pivotal role to facilitate such growth in the children. Rather than a large institutional building, the facility is scattered into an organic friendly and conducive learning village. This fosters greater interaction amongst all members in the school as well as a healthy dose of vitamin D every now and again. We feel blessed to have found EIS for Elijah and his sisters. It is truly a village of learning and a rare and exemplary educational model, not only academically but socially as well. Creating a valuable community of global citizens for the world.

We are Spanish family and our kids Valeria (6 years old) and Claudia (4 years old) started in EIS 3 years ago when we arrived to HCMC. Our experience in the school has been amazing since the beginning and we have always felt as a part of a big EIS community with plenty of activities for the whole family (Xmas fair, Saturday movie nights, Tet festival, United Nations Day, etc.) and our kids have really enjoyed a multicultural experience together with teachers, school staff and their colleges from all around the world, they have learnt many things but the most important ones are to understand and valued different cultures, languages, traditions and celebrations. Definitely we will recommend the experience in EIS HCMC and we will miss EIS community.
Stevenson Family – From Australia
When we moved to Vietnam from Australia, our daughter had been at a small, child centred school and it was important to find a good fit. The European International School was perfect with its warm, friendly village feel. As Sage was still young, seven at the time, a nurturing, creative and inclusive environment was essential to her well being. We found this at EIS and it has continued to be so, Sage is now in her fourth year. The Primary Years Program was also a big drawcard for us as it is an internationally available program that Sage can continue on with when we move home. Parent involvement is encouraged, whether it be as a class parent representative, member of the Parents Council, community events or in the classroom. We have always found our ideas, concerns and opinions can be voiced and heard. I love that Sage has had the opportunity to be exposed to different cultures both through fellow students, teachers and also learning a second language. Although the facilities are limited at EIS, Sage has been able to join the choir and swim team which has competed internationally. The size of the school really allows opportunities for students which they may otherwise not have and is continually looking for ways to involve students, parents and teachers in school life.

This is our fourth year among EIS community in Ho Chi Minh city. We have two daughters at the school. One is currently in third grade and the other, our youngest, is in Kindergarten 2. The school has provided a safe and comfortable environment for them to learn and develop their skills both as individuals and as members of the community. Classes are small and the education is personal, so the teachers know their students and can tailor their efforts to individual student needs. Through the after school activities, the kids complement their classes and get to know students and teachers from other grades, enhancing their interpersonal relationships and strengthening community links. Parents involvement is highly appreciated and encouraged by the school. There are a lot of occasions during the year, like events and assemblies, when the parents can join and watch the kids work and progress. Also, the school organizes a series of events at the campus for the whole community, out of school hours and in a relaxed atmosphere, having the parents and the kids a chance to get together, so the kids can meet their friends and the parents and teachers of all sections get to know each other. EIS is a warm and welcoming community of caring students, teachers, and parents.
Kernbach Family – From Germany
We are Max (6), Jonas (9), Maren and Daniel. Coming from Germany we were looking for a school that offers both – German and English classes as well as an international environment with pupils from all over the world to socialize with. EIS was our choice! EIS offers our kids a learning environment full of life, activities and encouragement. Class sizes are limited and the IB curriculum supports our kid’s school careers in a smooth but also demanding and performance driven way.
Max and Jonas enjoy the broad offer of after school activities and the possibility to explore different subjects in a playful and supportive environment. The big number of opportunities and events organized by the school to involve parents in the school community complement the positive impression we have gained from EIS throughout the past 6 months.

I would like to share with you my experience with EIS. We are a family with 2 children aged 5 and 7 and we have been living in Vietnam for 4 years already. I think I can say that we finally found the school our kids (and also we as parents) really like. EIS has a broad multicultural environment that mixing all possible nationalities. The teachers for both kids are perfect and we even hear their names at home many times. EIS works as a community. We experienced other schools in HCMC as well but at EIS parents are truly part of the school (for sure only if they want themselves). What we also value is accurate but not over-extensive communication from school. You receive all necessary information without being “spammed”. I highly recommend EIS to all families who are moving to HCMC. It is great place to have your kids at school.
Fettke Family – From Germany
My family has been part of this community for more than 3 years now and has seen so many positive changes in the school as it continues to grow and expand. What impresses me the most is the Open Door Policy which applies throughout from the teachers all the way up to the senior management.
With effective communication being so vital I find the schools pro active approach of using additional tools such as Social Media, Weekly Newsletters and Class Weeblies very impressive I am always up to date with all the events and happenings. New Ideas are always welcome and we as Parents are included and encouraged to lead many activities throughout the school year. Excellent examples of these would be International Language Day, Reading in Class, Family Fun Day and Movie Nights of which I make a point of attending.
Being a multicultural, multination school with 39 Nationalities represented throughout the grades I find their mission statement a true foundation on which the school values are brought to life by all members of EIS faculty. This is in turn instilled into the students from Early Years all the way through to High School. The growth and maturity displayed by the students is clearly visible through their development.
Having been expatriated throughout Europe, The Middle East and Asia over the last 13 years in multiple locations my family and I have been exposed to various educational systems. When I was looking for a school for my 2 daughters EIS was the perfect fit, I love the campus with its unique design and clever use of space, the individual villas, the IB curriculum and the language program which is the best in HCMC. I would happily recommend EIS as one of the top Educational Institutions in Ho Chi Minh City.
Kliegl Family – From Europe
When I decided to write some comments about the European International School, I first thought that it would be the easiest task ever. I was wrong. It took me literally a month before being able to put into words my admiration and profound gratitude for this school. I couldn’t decide where to begin with. Everything is great about the EIS: how teachers are available, personally, by phone or email, night and day, weekday or weekend; how education is presented as a joyful and delightful experience for our children; how students are encouraged to discover, enquire and question; how parents are directly involved in the school’s life and how the school management listens to them... The list is so long. For my family, however, the most impressive characteristic of the EIS is the empathy and will to help of all of the staff: when our youngest son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, not only was he kept as a regular student, but the EIS actively helped us to implement every single measure we decided to take with regards to his therapy. The level of commitment, acceptance, empathy and will of understanding demonstrated by the EIS towards our son and our family is simply beyond comparison. And for this, we will be forever grateful.

Wonderful EIS Experience
We are a Vietnamese Canadian family with our 4 years old daughter Megan attending EIS HCMC since one year. After researching many schools in HCMC we decided on EIS because of its safe and caring environment that is not too big nor too small for Megan. The variety of programs offered including the arts, dance, sport programs and the extra curriculum activities are excellent. The teachers and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and caring that makes the learning environment so much more positive and memorable.
We are also very happy with the many activities involving kids and parents that give us a chance to slow down and enjoy learning with them. The school provides a very international environment as it’s great to meet many other families from all over the world. We would highly recommend EIS!
Manning Family - From New Zealand
Our son Lucian is now in his second year at EIS, in Early Years, and loves it! EIS offers top quality education while maintaining a fantastic community feel. The staff and teachers are professional and caring, and as parents we benefit from excellent, open communication from the school about what is going on, and how our son is progressing. We are super happy that we chose EIS.

Khurram Family - From Germany
We are German Pakistani family. We are really happy with our selection of this school as it provides a good protective nourishing envoirnment to all the students. Main reason of selecting EIS is the option of additional German language which no other International school in Saigon provides. And the thing we like most is almost all of the school staff know us and school wants involvement of parents at all events.
