IB Teachers
Highly-qualified International Baccalaureate teachers and specialist subject specialists lead our IB programme across each division. Our teachers possess an average of 11 years of experience, and 42% hold a master's degree, many from highly-regarded overseas institutions.
Our educators are trained to teach specific areas of the IB syllabus and engage their students with fun, hands-on and stimulating lessons. IB educators undergo extensive training and professional development to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality instruction.
International Baccalaureate versus National Baccalaureate
At all levels, International Baccalaureate programmes aim to do more than many nationally-accredited curricula. As a world-recognised education system, our IBO-accredited programmes are easily transferable to international schools in 158 countries. The IB Diploma benefits senior students with advantages over national curriculums. While undertaking the advanced international course, learners build their critical-thinking skills and develop their ability to understand concepts within a global context.
IB Grading System
International Baccalaureate assessments are graded from 1–7. To gain the IB Diploma certificate, students must attain at least 24 points across 6 subjects. The 3 compulsory course components each equate to 1 point. The maximum score is 45.
To complete all IB assessments and gain the IB Diploma, students must undertake a variety of tasks, including examination papers, written assignments, essays, oral interviews, scientific and mathematical investigations, fieldwork projects and artistic performances, all of which are completed by candidates at various times during their course.
What Makes the IB Continuum Curriculum Different to Other Programmes?
The International Baccalaureate pathway is different from alternative programmes. It is an internationally-recognised course that seeks to:
- encourage students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
- encourage students to develop their individuality, independent of government and national systems
- incorporate quality practices drawn from research and the expertise of our global community
- inspire students of all ages to consider both local and international contexts
